You will craft flight safety analyses and a regulatory strategy for FAA Part 450 and reentry licensing, bridging engineering and regulatory requirements to ensure safe, compliant missions.

The role covers design verification, live operations support, and safety-case development, with opportunities for growth in a cutting-edge space startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, systems engineering or related field.
• Ownership and execution of a complex engineering project from cradle-to-grave.
• Excellent communication skills with cross-functional influence and regulator-facing experience.
• Strong experience with risk management methodologies and tools (FMEA, FHA, Fault Tree Analysis).
• Experience integrating interdisciplinary systems in aerospace.

Responsibilities

• Perform flight safety analyses for each mission, focusing on failure mode trajectory modeling and debris containment.
• Execute regulatory strategy, methods of compliance, and safety cases for FAA launch/reentry.
• Complete vehicle-level FHA and FMEA analyses.
• Act as Flight Safety responsible engineer during mission rehearsals and live recovery operations.
• Establish technical safety limits and mission rules for real-time on-console operations.
• Deliver vehicle-level artifacts to regulators supporting reentry licenses.
