Job summary

Vector Atomic, an IonQ company, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electronics for next‑gen quantum sensors. You will own end‑to‑end PCB design from concept to on‑orbit deployment, collaborating with physics, firmware, mechanical, and optical teams to meet LEO environment challenges.

You’ll design high‑speed, radiation‑hard circuits, specify components, verify with lab equipment, and participate in environmental testing and mission planning. This role reports to Engineering Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or higher with space electronics experience.
• Experience designing electronics for space (LEO) missions preferred.
• Strong knowledge of radiation effects and mitigation strategies.
• Proven ability to design high-speed, reliable PCB assemblies for space hardware.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-level electrical architecture for next-generation quantum sensors in space.
• Own end-to-end PCB development: requirements, schematic, layout, fabrication, testing.
• Collaborate with physicists, mechanical, software, and optical teams on designs.
• Ensure circuits operate reliably in LEO radiation/thermal environments.
• Develop environmental test plans and assess electronics lifetime against mission parameters.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to system integration and troubleshooting.
