Job summary

Umbra in Arlington, VA is seeking a Senior Cyber Threat Operations Engineer to spearhead defensive cyber operations, threat intelligence, and incident response. You will craft and execute security strategies, perform in-depth threat assessments, and bolster defenses for Umbra’s satellite technology and information systems.

This role requires strong collaboration with engineers and analysts to sustain a resilient security posture.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years in cyber threat operations or related cybersecurity field.
• Experience with incident response, threat hunting and vulnerability management.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead Defensive Cyber Operations and Continuous Monitoring initiatives.
• Monitor signature and behavioral indicators across operations daily.
• Oversee threat hunting and detection engineering for all segments; coordinate defensive actions.
• Analyze threats, vulnerabilities, and risks to networks; recommend preventive actions.
• Collaborate with engineers and analysts to align security with business goals.
• Develop and improve processes to prevent, detect, and respond to incidents; lead incident response and root-cause analysis.
