Job summary

Turion Space Corp. seeks an experienced Associate General Counsel to lead a broad range of corporate, commercial, finance, and regulatory matters from its Irvine headquarters. This full-time, on-site role reports to the General Counsel and collaborates with executive leadership and the board.

The ideal candidate brings 10–12 years of in-house and/or law-firm experience in U.S. government contracting, ITAR/EAR, and complex commercial agreements, with a pragmatic, business-minded approach.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in California.
• 10+ years of relevant legal experience, including in-house or government contracting environments.
• Substantive experience with U.S. government contracting (FAR/DFARS) and export controls (ITAR/EAR).
• Strong background in commercial contracting, governance for venture-backed companies, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted legal advisor to business, engineering, and government programs teams.
• Draft, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements including vendor and customer contracts.
• Support U.S. government contracting matters with DFARS/FAR compliance, including cost/pricing data and export controls.
• Advise on space industry regulatory/licensing matters (FCC, NOAA) and coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
• Partner with GC on governance matters, board materials, and financing readiness (Series C and IPO).
• Support debt/equity financing, SAFEs, and M&A activity including integrations and divestitures.
