Job summary

NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, seeks a Communications Specialist III to own multiple missions' communications activities, driving content from concept to delivery while balancing technical accuracy and creative storytelling.

You will collaborate with the Mission Communications Manager, Planetary Communications Lead, and the broader team to brainstorm content ideas, set timelines, and deliver high‑quality products that inform and inspire diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with minimum of related work experience; advanced degrees preferred.
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with responsibility for delivering concepts from inception through delivery.
• Proven ability to field undefined requests and action them in smaller tasks, delivering impactful products on tight deadlines.
• Experience overseeing production of varied assets including video, graphics, articles, experiential content, and others.
• Relentless focus on detail and strong design and storytelling instincts; guide a creative team to excellence.

Responsibilities

• Own communications activities, deliverables, and results for multiple JPL-managed NASA missions.
• Liaise with stakeholders across NASA, JPL, and external organizations for alignment and success.
• Collaborate with Mission Communications Manager and team to brainstorm content ideas and messaging campaigns.
• Translate complex technical milestones into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
• Develop and aggregate KPIs and reports to demonstrate impact of communications programs.
