Job summary

NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory seeks a communications specialist to drive content campaigns across planetary, Earth, and astrophysics initiatives. This role partners with mission communications and creative teams to ensure products are timely, accurate, and engaging for diverse audiences.

You will manage multiple projects, translate complex science into compelling narratives, and help measure impact with KPI reporting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a fast-paced environment delivering concepts from inception to delivery.
• Portfolio showing visually compelling, narrative content across media.

Responsibilities

• Brainstorm content ideas and campaigns with the communications team.
• Own concepts from leads and drive to completion while maintaining scientific integrity.
• Bridge between technical leads and production teams (graphics, video, web) with clear direction.
• Field requests from managers and program offices, asking the right questions to navigate goals.
• Balance technical accuracy with creative storytelling to engage audiences.
• Identify and resolve roadblocks to keep delivery on pace in a fast-moving setting.
• Create website and social content, assist with outreach events and other communications assets.
• Translate complex milestones into engaging narratives for varied audiences.
• Develop KPIs and reports to demonstrate the impact of strategic communications.
