Job summary

Varda Space Industries, Inc. is seeking a Principal Space Avionics Hardware Engineer to architect and design flight-critical electrical hardware for satellite buses and reentry vehicles.

You will define subsystem requirements, drive hardware from concept to production, and ensure safe operating criteria are met while collaborating with flight software, thermal, GNC, and structures teams. The role requires 8+ years in aerospace electronics, expertise in PCB design, Altium or KiCad, and hands-on

Qualifications

• 8+ years of direct experience designing electronics hardware for aerospace/high-rel industries.
• 3+ years on hardware for space applications.
• Experience owning architecture and implementation of complex electronics systems.

Responsibilities

• PCB level electronics design across lifecycle: schematic, layout, validation, fabrication, test.
• Contribute to avionics architecture and system design for next-gen vehicles.
• Define standards, processes and procedures for exemplary electrical engineering.
• Translate objectives into subsystem requirements and milestones.
• Act as avionics SME for satellite, reentry vehicle, and payload hardware.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (flight software, thermal, GNC, structures).
• Own product acceptance and qualification testing for space environments with support.
