Trusted Space, LLC is seeking a Senior Mission Autonomy Software Engineer to design and integrate autonomy algorithms for space systems. You will work on transitioning R&D into production software and contribute to simulation and demonstration environments.

The role emphasizes Python and Rust development, testing, and performance tuning, with collaboration across researchers and engineers to deliver robust autonomous capabilities for mission use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of software engineering experience, or 9+ years in lieu of degree.
• Strong Python and Rust development skills for autonomy software.
• Experience with autonomy, robotics, optimization, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Own transition of autonomy capabilities from R&D to production software.
• Develop robust Python/Rust software for autonomy, planning, decision-making, and control.
• Tune parameters, diagnose performance issues, and drive reliability.
• Integrate autonomy with mission software, simulations, and system interfaces.
• Define testing and evaluation approaches including simulations and automated tests.
• Train and tune reinforcement learning policies and other autonomy algorithms.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers on algorithm design and production decisions.
• Own the autonomy capability lifecycle and documentation.
