Job summary

GEICO is seeking a Principal, SOX and MAR in New York to serve as a senior execution lead within the SOX PMO. You will drive day-to-day execution, governance, documentation quality, and stakeholder coordination to sustain ICFR effectiveness under SOX and NAIC requirements.

You will partner with IT leadership, Internal Audit, and External Audit to ensure audit readiness, control design, and continuous improvement, while leveraging AI and automation to optimize controls and reporting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in SOX program management, Internal Audit, or related compliance function.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, IS, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of SOX Sections 302 and 404, COSO, PCAOB AS 2201.
• Experience with AI, SDLC, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, or technology-enabled control transformation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate SOX program execution with the company’s consolidated SOX program and governance.
• Lead annual SOX risk assessment and evaluate changes for SOX impacts and MAR considerations.
• Lead reviews of process narratives, RCMS, and control documentation for audit readiness.
• Coordinate ITGC governance and automated controls, including third-party provider reviews.
• Execute MAR components and maintain statutory ICFR documentation and lineage in the GRC platform.
• Manage deficiency intake, remediation tracking, and retest readiness in coordination with Internal Audit.
• Coordinate daily with Internal and External Audit; escalate material issues to the Director, SOX PMO.
• Drive continuous improvement and AI-enabled control optimization across the program.
