Job summary

GEICO in Bethesda, MD seeks a Principal, SOX and MAR to lead day-to-day execution of the SOX program, driving governance, documentation quality, stakeholder coordination and continuous improvement across ICFR.

This senior role partners with IT, Internal and External Audit to ensure controls remain effective, scalable and risk-aligned under Sarbanes-Oxley and NAIC Model rules; you’ll shape the program framework and oversee remediation and certification.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading SOX/ICFR programs and cross-functional governance.
• Strong stakeholder management and coordination with IT, Internal/External Audit.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement in compliance processes.

Responsibilities

• SOX Program Execution and Governance.
• Coordinate execution alignment with the parent company’s consolidated SOX program, including methodology, scoping, documentation, certification, and reporting.
• Maintain the annual SOX program calendar, including planning, walkthroughs, testing readiness, deficiency evaluation, remediation and certification.
