Job summary

The Maschhoffs is seeking a Farm Manager for a large Arapahoe-area sow operation. You will lead a team of supervisors and technicians, manage the P&L, and drive profitability by reducing costs and improving pig quality and output.

Responsibilities include strategic planning, staffing, safety, and bio-security coordination with Health Services, with a focus on accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 3 years management experience required.
• Bachelor degree may be substituted for two years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage full profit & loss and multi-million dollar asset base to drive profitability through lower costs and higher quality pigs.
• Develop leadership and technical skills of a team of Team Leads/Production Technicians on a 2,500 head farm or smaller.
• Contribute to annual operating goals, HR needs and farm business plans with cost/performance reviews.
• Monitor financial and biological performance, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee recruiting, onboarding and development of new team members in line with policy.
• Promote a safe work environment and report injuries.
• Coordinate and manage farm inputs: air, feed, water, labor, gilts, meds, supplies, fuel.
• Implement SOPs, techs, and innovations to improve production and environmental stewardship.
• Direct pig care practices to maintain health and bio-security in coordination with Health Services.
• Identify major and routine repairs and maintain preventative maintenance.
