Base pay range

$90.00/hr - $145.00/hr

Title: Senior Sourcer

Location: Remote, SFO, CA

Duration: 1 year ( 07/22/2025 - 07/24/2026)

Pay Rate : $90-$145/hr on W2

About the role:client is looking for a talented Senior Sourcer to join our Recruiting team and help us identify and engage the world's top research talent. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in building our research organization by sourcing, identifying, and engaging exceptional candidates across machine learning, AI safety, and related technical disciplines. As we continue to push the boundaries of AI research and development, we need a passionate sourcer who can help us build a world-class team dedicated to creating safe and beneficial AI systems.

You'll work closely with our recruiting team and research leaders to understand hiring needs, develop targeted sourcing strategies, and build relationships with potential candidates in the research community. This role offers the opportunity to directly impact Client's mission by ensuring we attract the best minds in AI research and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies to identify top-tier research talent across machine learning, AI safety, interpretability, alignment, and related fields
• Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to understand specific role requirements, team dynamics, and candidate profiles for research positions
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified research candidates through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship building
• Utilize advanced sourcing techniques including Boolean search, social media platforms, academic networks, conference attendee lists, and publication databases
• Engage with potential candidates through personalized outreach, building compelling narratives about Client's mission and research opportunities
• Maintain detailed candidate records and sourcing metrics in our applicant tracking system
• Stay current on research trends, key publications, academic conferences, and emerging talent in the AI/ML community
• Collaborate with the broader recruiting team to optimize sourcing processes and share best practices
• Represent client at academic conferences, research events, and networking opportunities as needed

You may be a good fit if you:

• Have 3+ years of experience in technical recruiting or sourcing, with a focus on research, engineering, or scientific roles
• Have demonstrated success sourcing candidates with advanced degrees (PhD, postdoc) in technical fields, particularly in machine learning, computer science, or related disciplines
• Are familiar with the academic research ecosystem, including conferences, journals, and key institutions in AI/ML
• Have strong Boolean search skills and experience with sourcing tools and platforms
• Possess excellent communication skills and can articulate complex technical concepts to engage research candidates
• Are passionate about AI safety and understand the importance of our mission
• Thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and enjoy the challenge of finding hard-to-reach talent
• Have experience building relationships with candidates over time, even when they're not immediately available
• Are detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously

Strong candidates may also have:

• Experience recruiting for AI/ML research roles or working within academic research environments
• Knowledge of the AI safety and alignment research community
• Background in a technical field or advanced degree in a related discipline
• Experience with diversity and inclusion initiatives in technical recruiting
• Familiarity with academic career paths and the transition from academia to industry
• Multi-lingual capabilities for engaging with international research talent
