Seeking an experienced Sound Designer for an upcoming documentary, targeting delivery in November 2026. This is a deferred compensation role with backend percentage points, suitable for someone passionate about impactful storytelling. We're open to remote talent but prefer Atlanta-based for potential in-person collaboration. Our film explores the resilience of small communities adapting to significant environmental changes, focusing on intimate human stories rather than scientific jargon. The tone is reflective and hopeful, requiring a soundscape that is immersive, authentic, and emotionally resonant. We need someone who can truly elevate the narrative through nuanced sound design, including foley, atmospheric effects, and sensitive mixing. Key responsibilities include creating and implementing a rich sound design, collaborating closely with the editor and director, and delivering high-quality audio files compatible with our post-production workflow. You should have your own professional-grade equipment and software. Please share your reel or portfolio demonstrating your work on previous documentaries or similar narrative projects. This project requires approximately 3-4 weeks of focused work, spread out over the next two months. We'll provide all raw audio tracks and a locked picture edit. We're aiming to make a decision by November 23, 2026.
