Job summary

SGMC Health is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for the Dasher Heart Center in Valdosta. You will perform routine and specialized ultrasound imaging, including vascular studies, and assist physicians with interventional procedures in a fast-paced cardiovascular setting.

Responsibilities include preparing the scanning room and equipment, documenting procedures, and delivering compassionate patient care. Candidates must be ARRT or RDMS/ARDMS certified (or equivalent) and able to work flexible

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Radiology Technology or Sonography.
• Certified by ARRT in Radiology preferred or RDMS/ARDMS/CCI certifications.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse staff and patients.
• Ability to communicate clearly with a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and special ultrasound imaging, including vascular studies.
• Performs initial interpretation and evaluation of procedures.
• Maintains standards of quality and assists physicians with ultrasound-guided interventional procedures.
• Operates ultrasound equipment and prepares scanning room, equipment, supplies and medications.
• Provides patient services using imaging modalities.
