Job summary

Precise Systems seeks a Journeyman Sonobuoy Test Engineer Technician to support production sonobuoy testing activities in Odon, Indiana. The role requires in-person presence and involves testing, analysis, and coordination with Navy and contractor teams.

The position emphasizes ensuring compliance with performance specifications, maintaining OIS certification, and collaboration with program offices and suppliers to advance Air ASW systems readiness.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or four years of related work experience is required.
• Minimum five years of professional work experience with OIS and ordnance management recommended.
• Willingness to travel to Navy/commercial aircraft and research vessels.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, interprets, evaluates, and advises EDT/IPT leaders on operational system requirements for airborne ASW systems.
• Conducts analyses of logistic requirements for development, experimentation, integration, and utilization of Air ASW systems.
• Leads special studies to ensure logistics requirements are considered in next-generation Air ASW systems.
• Accommodates operational needs in Air ASW systems' maintenance, inventory, and availability through short- and long-range planning.
• Maintains certification to operate the Ordnance Information System (OIS) for ordnance tracking and readiness assessments.
• Maintains liaison with Navy officials and sonobuoy manufacturers to ensure effective logistics delivery.
• Provides SME support to the Technical POC for Production Sonobuoy contracts and documentation.
• Coordinates and provides technical information for the Sonobuoy Manual, DEMIL, and EOD planning.
