Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology in Virginia Beach is seeking a Combat System Technician to conduct repair and failure analysis on AN/SQQ-89(V) SONAR equipment in FCAs and to serve as a SME for all SONAR system equipment.

You will analyze failures, perform testing and restoration, and work with legacy and modern SONAR hardware; travel is minimal, with 40-hour weeks onsite at Dam Neck.

• Analytical thinking and sonar knowledge required.
• Strong understanding of combat systems and sonar equipment needed.

Responsibilities

• Conducts repair and failure analysis on AN/SQQ-89(V) SONAR equipment in Fleet Concentration Areas (FCAs).
• Subject Matter Expert with all AN/SQQ-89(V) SONAR combat system equipment.
• Familiar with legacy SONAR and modern AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 SONAR equipment.
• Analyzes failures and faults and provides corrective solutions required to implement equipment repair.
• Conducts testing and restoration activities as required.
