The Senior Solutions Sales Engineer, Enterprise - LATAM - Mexico City Opportunity

Solutions Engineers at Okta are involved throughout the customer development lifecycle. They utilize demos, presentations, email, phone, and social media to connect with customers. We seek great teammates capable of building sales presentations, product demonstrations, conducting technical proof-of-concept evaluations, and educating customers (from developers to product managers to C-level executives) on the market's best cloud security and identity technology.

Our Solutions Engineers empathize with customers, quickly identifying their true technical needs by asking detailed questions and presenting targeted solutions. They possess a rare combination of technical savvy and business insight.

As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will advise a diverse set of Fortune 500 customers on what is possible using Okta's Identity Platform.

What you'll be doing
  1. Collaborate with account executives to develop and execute territory and account strategies to maximize opportunities.
  2. Prepare and deliver demos showcasing how the Okta platform meets customer needs.
  3. Execute delivery of POCs for complex use cases, collaborating with engineering teams as needed, including instructing customers in coding for integration with Okta's Auth0 platform.
  4. Research and discover customer requirements and communicate the business value of cloud technology solutions.
  5. Create technical content demonstrating implementation of specific use cases or methodologies.
  6. Author concise documentation for RFPs, security questionnaires, blogs, etc.
  7. Communicate customer needs and feedback to Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales.
Required Skills
  • 5+ years of pre-sales engineering experience.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.
  • Background in Identity/Security preferred.
  • Ability to travel within and outside the USA to Latin American countries.
  • Customer service passion, ideally from consulting or support roles, including solutions engineering.
  • Effective communication of complex technical concepts through presentations and whiteboards.
  • Hands-on coding experience in web, mobile, or backend development (JavaScript, HTML, iOS, Android, Java, C#, Node.js, Python, PHP, Ruby).
  • Experience with security protocols like OAuth, SAML, LDAP.
  • Understanding of core security concerns in applications.
  • Confidence presenting to highly skilled audiences.
  • Willingness to travel 20-30%.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent experience as a software developer.
