The Senior Solutions Sales Engineer, Enterprise - LATAM - Mexico City Opportunity

Solutions Engineers at Okta engage in all stages of the customer development lifecycle, utilizing demos, presentations, email, phone, and social media to connect. We seek team players capable of building sales presentations, conducting product demonstrations, executing technical proof-of-concept evaluations, and educating customers—from developers to executives—on cloud security and identity technology.

Our Solutions Engineers empathize with customers, quickly identifying their true technical needs by asking detailed questions and presenting targeted solutions. They possess a rare blend of technical savvy and business insight.

As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will advise a diverse set of Fortune 500 customers on the possibilities using Okta's Identity Platform.

What you'll be doing

  • Collaborate with account executives to develop and execute territory and account strategies to maximize opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver demos demonstrating how the Okta platform meets customer needs.
  • Execute Proof-of-Concepts for complex use cases, collaborating with engineering teams and guiding customers in coding web and mobile applications to integrate with Okta's Auth0 platform.
  • Research and discover customer requirements, communicating the business value of cloud technology solutions.
  • Create technical content to show implementation methods for specific use cases and new technologies.
  • Write concise documentation for RFPs, security questionnaires, and product use case blogs.
  • Relay customer feedback and needs to Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales teams.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of pre-sales engineering experience.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.
  • Background in Identity/Security is preferred.
  • Ability to travel within and outside the USA to Latin American countries.
  • Passion for customer service, with experience in consulting, support, or solutions engineering.
  • Effective communication of complex technical concepts via presentations and whiteboards.
  • Hands-on coding experience in web, mobile, or backend development (JavaScript, HTML, iOS, Android, Java, C#, Node.js, Python, PHP, Ruby).
  • Experience with security protocols like OAuth, SAML, LDAP.
  • Understanding of core security concerns in applications (password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption, XSS, XSRF).
  • Confidence presenting to highly skilled audiences.
  • Willingness to travel 20-30%.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent experience as a developer.

Below is the annual On Target Earnings (OTE) range for candidates in California, Colorado, New York, and Washington. Actual OTE depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The OTE range for this position in specified states is between $192,000 and $288,000 USD.
