Job summary

alphanumeric is seeking a Sr. Solutions Engineer in Houston, TX to bridge business needs with IT delivery and operations.

You will analyze data, lead cross-functional teams, design specifications, and support both proprietary software and third-party products using SQL, Python, and reporting tools. The role emphasizes project planning, documentation, and vendor collaboration to enable reliable production systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
• 5+ years' experience in land support or Information Systems.
• Familiarity with the Oil & Gas industry.
• Excellent team leadership/project management skills.
• Strong analytical abilities.
• Gather and document business requirements, develop system specification documents, and design workflow charts and process maps.
• Experience with QC/QA software testing procedures.
• Experience with query/reporting tools such as TOAD, Crystal Reports/Business Objects, SQL, Spotfire, Python.

Responsibilities

• Data analysis and tracking of production issues with short/long term fixes.
• Lead coordination between users, developers, and vendors; oversee projects.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive administrator documentation and specifications.
• Create and use SQL for data analysis, QA testing, and reporting.
• Support and upgrade 3rd party products and internal software applications.
• Utilize AI-powered tools to aid research, data analysis, system design, and documentation.
