DSV Projects & Industry Solutions (DPIS) delivers integrated logistics solutions for some of the world's most complex capital projects across Energy, LNG, Petrochemical, Mining, Power, Renewable Energy and Industrial sectors. The Senior Transport Engineer is a consultative logistics engineering specialist responsible for developing transportability assessments, constructability reviews and executable transport methodologies that enable the safe movement of oversized and heavy‑lift cargo.
Duties And Responsibilities
Transport Engineering
- Develop transport engineering solutions for oversized, overweight and heavy‑lift cargo movements.
- Prepare transport engineering studies, transportation methodologies, method statements, logistics execution plans and transport philosophies.
- Develop heavy haul, lifting, load‑out, skidding, jacking, marine transportation and multimodal logistics concepts.
- Evaluate transportability, constructability, execution risk and logistics interfaces throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical assurance that proposed logistics solutions are practical, safe and commercially viable.
Route Engineering
- Conduct desktop transport feasibility studies and coordinate physical route surveys.
- Assess bridge capacities, pavement loading, turning geometry, vertical clearances, permitting requirements and temporary works.
- Develop mitigation strategies and detailed engineering recommendations.
Engineering Review
- Review engineering drawings to assess transportability, lifting arrangements, centres of gravity, transport envelopes and fabrication constraints.
- Recommend improvements that enhance logistics efficiency and reduce project risk.
Project & Tender Support
- Support FEED studies, EPC tenders, RFIs and RFQs with technical engineering input.
- Prepare technical narratives, engineering deliverables, budgets and execution philosophies.
- Provide technical support during critical heavy transport operations.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Interface directly with EPC contractors, owners, engineering consultants, heavy haul contractors, ports, Marine Warranty Surveyors and regulatory authorities.
- Support Business Development during client meetings, technical workshops and strategic pursuits as the transport engineering SME.
Technical Leadership
- Mentor junior engineers and project teams on transport engineering best practices.
- Develop standards, templates, engineering tools and lessons learned across DPIS.
- Promote innovation through digital route analysis, logistics simulation and engineering technologies.
Educational Background / Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural or Transportation Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng) or actively pursuing registration preferred.
- 10–15 years' experience in transport engineering, heavy transport, logistics engineering or heavy‑lift project execution.
- Experience supporting EPC, LNG, Petrochemical, Mining, Power, Renewable Energy or major infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience preparing transport engineering studies, route assessments, constructability reviews and logistics execution plans.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to translate engineering into executable logistics solutions.

Travel Requirements
Domestic and international travel of approximately 20–40% is expected. Travel will include route surveys, fabrication yard inspections, client meetings, port assessments, transport trials and attendance during critical heavy transport, lifting and marine operations.
Organizational Context
The Senior Transport Engineer is a senior technical advisor within DPIS, partnering with Project Managers, Specialized Transport SMEs, Business Development and Operations to deliver technically robust logistics solutions. The role provides consultative engineering support throughout the full project lifecycle and is instrumental in positioning DSV as a market‑leading provider of engineering‑led project logistics.

Compensation & Benefits
Expected base pay is $118,000 - $147,000 annually. The full compensation package includes health benefits (medical, prescription, dental, vision, and life insurance), flexible and health spending accounts, short and long‑term disability coverage, wellness resources, a 401(k) plan with company matching up to 5%, generous paid time off, paid holidays and additional floating holidays.
