Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is proud to be the pioneer and recognized leader in Cloud Computing. Our web services provide IT infrastructure used by hundreds of thousands of developers and businesses worldwide, from startups to Global 500 companies across all industries.

AWS is looking for an experienced Storage Solutions Architect to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for AWS DataSync, AWS Transfer Family, and AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (DRS). You will be a technical authority working closely with service teams to drive innovation and adoption while supporting field teams and strategic customers across enterprise migrations, data center exits, managed file transfer (MFT) modernization, and disaster recovery.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable diving deep into storage service internals with engineering teams and explaining complex architectures to technical decision-makers. You will partner with AWS storage service teams to influence roadmaps, document best practices, and drive feature adoption through technical content creation and industry event presentations.

In this role, you will partner with Storage Product and GTM teams to enable key technical use cases and drive service adoption. A key focus is translating complex storage and data‑movement requirements into scalable, resilient architectures and supporting the field through large‑scale data center migrations, modernizing managed file transfer workflows, and designing recovery strategies that keep critical workloads resilient. Through thought leadership, you will establish best practices, propose service enhancements, and create technical content that enables successful implementation of AWS storage solutions.

This role combines service expertise with strategic customer engagement. Travel requirements are approximately 25%, primarily for speaking engagements and technical events.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary technical specialist for AWS DataSync, AWS Transfer Family, and AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (DRS), working closely with the service teams to drive feature adoption and customer success
  • Partner with DataSync, Transfer Family, and DRS GTM/Product teams to develop and execute technical strategies that drive service growth
  • Provide architectural guidance to customers implementing enterprise data migrations, data center exits, managed file transfer (MFT) modernization, and disaster recovery / business continuity across these services
  • Create technical content, deliver workshops, and speak at events to educate customers on data movement, secure file transfer, and resilience best practices
  • Capture and advocate for customer feedback to influence the DataSync, Transfer Family, and DRS roadmaps, including driving resolution of critical feature gaps blocking large migration and recovery pipelines
  • Collaborate with field SA teams to support complex customer opportunities and technical challenges
  • Mentor other SAs on data transfer, MFT, and disaster recovery architecture patterns and use cases
