Job summary

New York Technology Partners seeks a Principal Solution Architect to lead distributed systems and event-driven architecture in Chicago. Onsite from Day 1 with a hybrid model.

You will shape architecture across microservices, data streaming, and cloud platforms, and mentor engineering teams to drive scalable, secure solutions. You will partner with DevOps, security, and data teams to ensure resilient, cost-efficient deployments and robust data flow across systems.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with event-driven and message-based systems.
• Experience designing architectures across distributed and enterprise platforms.
• Architect Kubernetes-based deployment for stateless services and on-demand jobs.

Responsibilities

• Design the applications’ architecture across distributed platforms using event-driven patterns and microservices.
• Define and enforce architectural standards across engineering teams.
• Design streaming and batch processing systems for real-time and scheduled data flows.
• Guide message-based systems with Kafka or similar platforms for reliable event-driven communication.
• Oversee data architecture and integration strategies for streaming, batch, and message processing.
• Own end-to-end solution architecture from ideation to implementation with documentation.
• Collaborate with DevOps, security, and platform teams to ensure operability and resilience.
• Review designs and code for security and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor teams on distributed systems and best practices.
