Role and impact

As a Senior Solutions Architect on the MMA Enterprise Architecture Team, you will lead collaboration with Technology and Business partners to design and communicate innovative solutions utilizing packaged solutions, cloud services, and custom development. In this role, you will generate and provide critical feedback on Architecture Documents and present them to the Architecture Review Board. You will review, adopt, and promote architectural standards and best practices to ensure consistency and security across domains such as enterprise applications, web applications, microservices, and application containerization. You will mentor and empower teams, guide other architects, stay updated with the latest technologies, and evaluate vendor products. Your role is pivotal in driving technology solutions that align with and advance business objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead collaboration with Technology and Business partners to design and communicate innovative solutions using packaged solutions, cloud services, and custom development.
  • Generate and provide critical feedback on Architecture Documents and present to the Architecture Review Board.
  • Review, adopt, and promote architectural standards and best practices for enterprise applications, web applications, microservices, and containerization.
  • Mentor and empower teams; guide other architects to ensure alignment with architectural standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and share expertise across teams; evaluate vendor products.
  • Drive technology solutions that align with and advance business objectives.
  • Lead architectural reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to design solutions and effectively communicate them through standard methods, including logical component diagrams, integration diagrams, and deployment diagrams.
  • Ability to evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and tools to assess their suitability for solving business problems and meeting project requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience of all phases of the SDLC and full lifecycle implementations using traditional waterfall / iterative and more modern agile methodologies.
  • Experience communicating with business and technical stakeholders at varying levels of seniority and understanding.
  • Experience in developing software solutions utilizing technology stacks and methodologies including Node.js, Angular, React, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes containerization, JSON, and REST web services.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including cloud architecture, services, and deployment models.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
  • Understanding of security, data protection, and compliance requirements to design secure and compliant solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with identifying and resolving complex technical issues and guiding technical teams in troubleshooting.
  • Proven track record of leading architectural reviews and ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Ability to drive strategic initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for innovation.
Additional qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field (preferred).
  • Insurance or Finance industry knowledge (preferred).
  • TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Certification (preferred).

The applicable base salary range for this role is $113,000 to $197,800. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives. We are excited to offer a competitive total rewards package which includes health and welfare benefits, tuition assistance, 401K savings and other retirement programs as well as employee assistance programs.
