Job summary

BVA Bears IT Solutions is seeking a part-time Solution / Infrastructure Architect to drive architectural leadership for AMS with a focus on Transition In and service stability. The role is largely remote, with onsite participation at PennDOT facilities as needed.

The candidate will ensure designs align with Commonwealth standards and IED requirements, providing governance, risk mitigation, and cross‑functional collaboration across a diverse application ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure or solution architecture roles.
• Experience in public-sector or regulated settings.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure platforms, application architectures, and IT service delivery models.
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical and operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of the Infrastructure Architecture Design Document (IADD).
• Ensure infrastructure, hosting, network, database, middleware, and integration designs align with Commonwealth reference architectures and PennDOT standards.
• Establish architectural guardrails to prevent non-standard, unsupported, or duplicative technologies.
• Validate designs for scalability, resiliency, maintainability, and operational supportability.
