Remote, AWS Infrastructure Engineer (AWS, Azure, On-Prem Data Center) - Candidates must reside within a few hours of Harrisburg, PA

This position is open for both Long Term Contract/Full Time

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves managing and maintaining hybrid infrastructure environments, with a strong focus on AWS (70%) and Azure (30%), as well as on-premises data centers. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Linux and Windows operating systems and possess a solid understanding of infrastructure automation, scalability, and security.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Proven experience in managing AWS (minimum 70%) and Azure (minimum 30%) cloud environments.
2. Strong knowledge of on-prem data center infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage.
3. Expertise in Linux and Windows operating systems.
4. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation purposes.
5. Familiarity with DevOps tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Jenkins is a plus.
6. Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.).
7. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator).
2. Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
3. Knowledge of ITIL practices and principles.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, deploy, troubleshoot, and manage AWS infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and cost optimization.
2. Contribute to Azure cloud deployments and manage multi-cloud environments effectively.
3. Implement and support hybrid-cloud solutions to bridge on-prem and cloud infrastructures.
4. Complete understanding of network/VPN/firewall/Security Groups and logging.
5. Support on-premises servers including troubleshooting network connectivity.
6. Should have a good knowledge of Active Directory.
7. Develop strategies for disaster recovery and business continuity for on-prem systems to hybrid cloud.

Operating Systems:

1. Manage Linux and Windows server environments, ensuring smooth operations and security compliance.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve OS-level issues efficiently.
3. Experience working with Windows Clustering and SQL.

Automation and Monitoring:

1. Develop automation scripts and tools for infrastructure provisioning and management.
2. Implement proactive monitoring solutions to ensure system reliability and uptime.
3. Create detailed dashboards for monitoring and billing.

Security and Compliance:

1. Configure and manage security groups, policies, and permissions in AWS and Azure environments.
2. Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Collaboration and Documentation:

1. Work closely with cross-functional teams to support application and database needs.
2. Document infrastructure processes, configurations, and incident resolutions comprehensively.
