Senior Solution Architect - Infrastructure Construction

Position Summary:
Bentley is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to lead Account Managers, Application Engineers, and Product Managers in defining user architecture roadmaps and driving process improvements. In this role, you will collaborate with influential practitioners and project leaders to guide advanced users, recommend product and process enhancements, and solve complex business challenges by integrating Bentley’s portfolio into comprehensive, end-to-end solutions.

This role requires fluency in German (native-level proficiency preferred).

Responsibilities:

  • Lead coordination with Enterprise Account Managers to align Bentley's current and future product portfolio, along with implementation services, to account objectives and strategic plans. Document technical solutions within account plans and contribute to annual account reviews.
  • Support the Account Advancement team by facilitating Discovery sessions, delivering technical guidance during presales activities, and preparing solution designs, RFP responses, and contract negotiations.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including enterprise decision-makers, strategic technology partners, and government/federal agencies.
  • Design and deliver technical workshops and training sessions for users and internal teams, focusing on enterprise systems integration and infrastructure solution development, leveraging the Bentley product portfolio.
  • Provide structured feedback to Product Teams to enhance product and solution offerings and collaborate with them on updates and improvements.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends by contributing thought leadership, participating in, and occasionally chairing industry committees.
  • Represent Bentley at conferences and industry events, presenting solutions to strengthen Bentley’s presence across designated regions.
  • Communicate consistently and clearly with account stakeholders and internal colleagues, ensuring alignment across the account team.
  • Engage with stakeholders and users to gather account-specific intelligence, feedback, and insights, and share findings with account teams to inform strategy and planning.
  • Collaborate with account teams to shape and execute account strategies, participating in regular team meetings as required.
  • Support sales opportunities by contributing to account planning, executing the Bentley Sales Process, and documenting key activities in Salesforce.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration (“One Bentley”), fostering alignment with internal stakeholders to maximize account value.
  • Travel up to 50% for user site visits and participation in user conferences, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline, preferably with an infrastructure focus, or equivalent training and experience.
  • 10 years of technical sales experience within the infrastructure sector, supported by a background in Engineering, Construction, or Design.
  • In-depth knowledge of infrastructure software technologies across transportation, water, energy, and building sectors.
  • Highly adaptable, innovative, and solutions-oriented, with a strong ability to address complex challenges and prepare for future product needs.
  • Demonstrated experience introducing and deploying new technologies to drive innovation, efficiency, and organizational change, with a solid understanding of IT and digital practice requirements.
  • Expertise with Bentley Systems solutions strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, leveraging data, creativity, and independent judgment to deliver effective outcomes.
