Job summary

MX is seeking a Solutions Architect in Lehi, UT to design scalable, customer-focused architectures that help financial institutions deliver smarter digital experiences. You will partner closely with sales, product, and engineering to shape how MX’s platform is implemented and scaled.

This role requires deep technical depth, business context, and the ability to guide customers toward practical, performant solutions while driving long-term success for MX and its partners.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in solutions architecture or related customer-facing tech roles.
• 5+ years designing cloud-based architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP) and distributed systems.
• 4+ years partnering with customers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• 4+ years leading end-to-end solution design including APIs and data flows.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers and stakeholders to understand goals and translate them into scalable, high-impact solutions.
• Design end-to-end architectures across infrastructure, applications, data, and security for performance and maintainability.
• Conduct technical discovery to assess viability, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs.
• Act as trusted advisor on best practices, patterns, and emerging tech to guide decisions.
• Support pre-sales with technical discussions, demos, and customer confidence building during sales cycles.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, and operations to ensure effective implementation and MX standards.
• Create architecture diagrams, design docs, and implementation plans to enable alignment and execution.
• Stay current on industry trends and identify opportunities to improve MX’s technical approach.

Solutions Architect

As a Solutions Architect, you’ll play a critical role in translating that mission into real-world impact—designing scalable, thoughtful solutions that solve complex customer problems and drive meaningful outcomes.

This is a highly collaborative, customer-facing role where you’ll partner closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to shape how MX’s platform is implemented and scaled. You’ll bring both technical depth and business context—acting as a trusted advisor to customers while helping internal teams deliver solutions that are practical, performant, and aligned to long‑term success.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with customers and stakeholders: Work closely with customers, sales, and internal teams to understand business goals, technical requirements, and constraints—translating them into scalable, high-impact solutions
• Design end-to-end architectures: Lead the design of solution architectures across infrastructure, applications, data, and security—ensuring performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability
• Drive technical discovery and feasibility: Conduct assessments to evaluate solution viability, identify risks and dependencies, and guide decision‑making with clear tradeoffs and recommendations
• Act as a trusted advisor: Provide guidance on best practices, architecture patterns, and emerging technologies—helping customers and internal teams make informed technical decisions
• Support pre‑sales and solutioning efforts: Partner with sales to lead technical discussions, present solutions, and build confidence with customers throughout the sales cycle
• Collaborate across teams: Work cross‑functionally with engineering, product, and operations to ensure solutions are implemented effectively and aligned with MX standards
• Document and communicate clearly: Create architecture diagrams, design documentation, and implementation plans that enable alignment and successful execution
• Continuously improve: Stay current on industry trends and proactively identify opportunities to improve MX’s technical approach, scalability, and customer experience

Basic Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in solutions architecture, technical consulting, or a related customer‑facing technical role
• 5+ years of experience designing cloud‑based architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern distributed systems
• 4+ years of experience partnering directly with customers or stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• 4+ years of experience leading or contributing to end‑to‑end solution design, including APIs, data flows, and system integrations

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• Experience with fintech, SaaS, or data‑driven platforms
• Strong understanding of modern architecture patterns (microservices, event‑driven systems, serverless, containers)
• Experience with API design, data modeling, and integration strategies
• Familiarity with security best practices and compliance considerations in cloud environments
• Experience supporting pre‑sales efforts, including solution presentations and technical demos
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Professional Architect)
