Job summary

HDR is seeking a Solid Waste Lead in Pittsburgh to lead the waste section for PA/OH/WV/DE. You will manage projects focused on MSW, sustainability, and waste planning, coordinating with national practice leads and local leadership.

Responsibilities include business development, client meetings, and project delivery from planning to permitting. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in waste, engineering, and strong leadership skills, with a collaborative, employee-owned mindset.

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience in waste management/design, civil site engineering, or related field.
• Strong client relationship management and ability to interact with clients.
• Proven leadership and project management capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and time management.

Responsibilities

• Direct multidiscipline waste projects with strategic complexity.
• Develop and maintain client relations and participate in business development.
• Coordinate staffing and workload across project development.
• Ensure QA/QC procedures are implemented.
• Work on MSW, landfills, organics facilities, and related projects.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to proposals and scopes of work.
