Job summary

Eurofins USA PSS Insourcing Solutions seeks a Senior Solid State NMR Scientist to provide laboratory support in solid-state NMR data collection and interpretation for pharmaceutical materials. You will apply ssNMR to characterize a broad range of APIs, excipients, and drug products, and plan experiments with minimal supervision.

Collaborating with Materials Science, you will advance characterization strategies, perform 1D/2D spectra interpretation, and maintain accurate lab notebooks in line

Qualifications

• PhD in chemistry or related field with ssNMR expertise, or BA/MS with 2–3+ years ssNMR experience.
• Experience with ssNMR sample preparation, data acquisition, and interpretation of 1D/2D spectra.
• Experience with solid-state characterization techniques (XRD, microscopy, DSC, TGA, spectroscopy) is an advantage.
• Vibrational spectroscopy knowledge (FTIR, NIR, FT-Raman) is an advantage.
• Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication, highly organized, able to work independently.
• Strong interest and motivation to learn new technologies and concepts.

Responsibilities

• Apply ssNMR to characterize a broad range of pharmaceutical materials (crystalline and non-crystalline small molecule APIs, excipients, drug product intermediates, and drug products)
• Apply quantitative ssNMR methods to measure components of APIs and drug products
• Plan and perform experiments with minimal supervision
• Collaborate with colleagues in Materials Science to define and implement characterization strategies
• Solve scientific problems using contemporary Materials Science experimental techniques
• Contribute to the development of new scientific approaches and knowledge within the Materials Science organization
• Ensure contemporaneous and accurate entries are made in the electronic laboratory notebook system according to accepted good practice
