Job summary

Quevera is seeking a Senior Solaris & Linux Systems Administrator in Annapolis Junction, MD, to support enterprise Solaris and Linux environments, storage, backups, security, and patching. The role requires hands-on expertise with Solaris, IBM Enterprise Storage, Veritas NetBackup, Nessus, YUM, and strong Linux security knowledge.

Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph and CompTIA Security+ are required, along with 3+ years of Solaris and 3+ years of OA administration experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Three or more years of Solaris System Administration experience.
• Three or more years of System Administration experience with OLVM, RHEL, CentOS, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Solaris and Linux systems in a production environment.
• Manage and support IBM Enterprise Storage solutions, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Veritas NetBackup for enterprise backup and recovery operations.
• Perform system patching and package management using YUM repositories.
• Execute and remediate vulnerability scans using Nessus to support compliance with security standards.
• Support and maintain STE/STIN processes and environments, as applicable to organizational standards.
• Implement and maintain system security configurations, including NSF frameworks and policies.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure upgrades, audits, and incident response.
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and compliance requirements.
