Job summary

93Energy seeks a Senior Project Manager for solar construction to lead all phases from permitting to field execution. You will ensure on-time, on-budget delivery, manage safety and quality, and supervise field staff in a hybrid role based in Evanston, IL.

Responsibilities include coordinating with AHJs, suppliers, and internal teams, maintaining schedules, and driving procurement and change order processes. A strong background in solar projects and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of project management experience in commercial construction, with 4-6 years in solar or renewable energy.
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of utility interconnection, AHJ permitting, procurement tracking, and full commercial construction documentation (RFIs, Submittals, Change Orders).
• Experience managing Field Operations, site personnel and Junior project management staff.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, digital document management tools, construction management software architectures.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 25%.
• OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction permitting and interconnection.
• Interface with AHJs, consultants, and internal teams.
• Maintain permit trackers and critical path timelines to avoid delays.
• Coordinate procurement, bids, and LOIs with vendors and subcontractors.
• Oversee field operations, safety protocols, and quality assurance.
• Supervise Foremen and mentor junior staff.
• Manage change orders, invoicing, and project accounting tasks.
• Prepare 4-week look-ahead schedules and reporting.
• Closeout documentation and client relationship management.
