From observation / inspection services to laboratory testing and materials and forensic engineering, our Construction Materials Engineering and Testing market helps to develop and maintain America's infrastructure and supply chain and is a recognized industry leader with more than 25 accredited laboratories.

Kleinfelder's Ontario, CA office is seeking Senior Soils Technicians to join our Southern California team. We provide construction inspection and material testing services to a broad range of local and national clients. We are looking for individuals who are interested in joining a dynamic team and building their career in the field of construction inspection and materials testing. We're looking for a person with strong initiative, who will perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications. The inspector will prepare daily reports and data sheets and may be called upon to perform various tasks at the discretion of their supervisor.

Consideration for this position requires the following certifications or experience:

• 7+ years of soils inspection and testing experience
• Radiation safety training for the operation of a nuclear density gauge

In addition to the above required experience and certifications, hiring preference will be given to those with any of the following desired certifications:

• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade 1
• ICC certifications
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector
• County of Los Angeles certifications
• Los Angeles City certifications

Desired Skills

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and photo management software
• Willingness to learn and adapt to technological advancements in daily reports and field data management
• Own vehicle, valid driver's license, and clean driving record
• Ability to pass background check and Live Scan fingerprinting as required
• Willingness to travel throughout southern California

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
