deciBel Research has an immediate opening for an experienced Software Test Engineer in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description

The Senior Software Test Engineer analyzes system requirements and concept of operations documents, acquisition plans, and system descriptions to develop evaluation and test plans and procedures, prepare for and conduct data collection and analysis, and report status and results.

The Senior Software Test Engineer supports the development of Government test and evaluation documentation (e.g., Test and Evaluation (TandE) Strategy, Test and Evaluation Master Plan, Event Test Plans, Test Readiness Assessments, and TandE Reports.) Provides specialized TandE capabilities tailored to system functions, level, maturity, and performance area as assigned in the SOW. Automated test development is a primary focus.

Minimum Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management or related discipline. Four years of additional TE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Experience Requirements
  • 15+ years of experience as a TE on large-scale, Agile-based DoD software development programs.
  • Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with a structured process-driven software development environment including peer reviews, revision control systems, defect tracking, and build release practices.
  • Experience with automated testing techniques including unit and integration testing.
  • Experience with test framework/application and system verification.
Desired Skills
  • Experience with Atlassian tools, including JIRA and Confluence.
  • Experience with source code control tools such as Git.
  • Experience with safety-critical and nuclear-critical software development (e.g., DO-178C, AFMAN 91-119, DO-330).
  • Experience with development drivers and middleware (RTOS, Linux, VxWorks) and anti-tampering (cryptographic, secure communications, logging, software deployment).
  • Certification or experience as a SCRUM Master and/or Product Owner.
