Job summary

Protingent is seeking a Software Test Engineer III to lead the creation and execution of thorough test plans, test cases, and automated scripts. You will work closely with software developers to define effective test strategies in a CI environment.

The role requires 5+ years in software testing or development, strong problem‑solving and communication skills, and experience with COSMOS and multiple programming languages. This is an on‑site, contract position in Centennial, CO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; 3+ years in the field.
• 5+ years of software testing or development experience.
• Experience with COSMOS.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages.
• Ability to design and architect complex software systems.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading development and execution of comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Lead development and review of automated test scripts for CI environments.
• Plan testing activities in a fast‑paced setting; oversee defect lifecycle.
• Define software test risks and opportunities considering cost and schedule.
• Review software design descriptions, ICDs and requirements with teams.
• Improve testing processes and implement automated testing tools and frameworks.
• Report bugs, provide feedback, and perform regression testing on updates.
• Maintain and update test documentation and reports.
• Participate in code reviews to improve software quality and testability.
