First Object in the United States is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer to lead QA, ensuring reliable, high-performing software. You will design and oversee test strategies across the full SDLC, with emphasis on automation, performance testing and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field, or equivalent.
• 4–7 years of experience in software testing.
• Experience with manual and automated testing, including functional, regression and performance testing.
• Experience with Selenium or Playwright for test automation.
• Familiarity with JMeter, LoadRunner or similar performance testing tools.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Ability to collaborate with developers, product managers and stakeholders early in the SDLC.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and promote test best practices.
• Basic programming knowledge (Java, Python or JavaScript).

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and overseeing comprehensive test strategies across all phases of the software development lifecycle. Your expertise in test automation, performance testing and quality standards will guide the team in identifying and resolving issues effectively, fostering a culture of quality.

As a senior member of the team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership to improve testing processes, tools and methodologies. Your role will have a significant impact on enhancing the efficiency, scalability and reliability of our products, ensuring an exceptional user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• The Sr Software Test Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end testing activities.
• Develop and execute test plans consisting of both manual and automated test cases to validate software functionality against requirements and specifications.
• Identify, troubleshoot, report, and track software defects and issues.
• Perform functional, performance, and regression testing of software products.
• Report test results and defects to the development team and other stakeholders and work on the resolution.
• Provide suggestions and feedback to improve the quality of the software development process across teams.
• Stay updated with industry trends in software testing methodologies and tools.
• Active participation in planning, analysis, and estimation of backlog requirements.
• Configure test environments with different platform combinations for testing.
• Ability to work in a close team environment and engage with other departments.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and still meet job requirements and tight deadlines.
• Learn an automation tool (if new to automation) and automate the test cases.
• Learn a performance testing tool (if new to performance testing) and run the performance test cases.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 4-7 years of experience in software testing
• Extensive experience with manual and automated testing methodologies, including functional, regression and performance testing.
• Experience in test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium or playwright
• Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner or other related tools to validate scalability and system performance underload.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, isolate and troubleshoot issues, ensuring high-quality test coverage.
• Proven ability to work effectively with developers, product managers and other stakeholders, ensuring that testing needs are integrated early in the development process.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly report issues, document test cases and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement within the team.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript or similar.
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered testing tools and working knowledge of how AI and ML model behaviors influence test strategy, test data design, and validation approaches.
• Experience testing cloud-native applications on Azure, or any other cloud platform, including validation of microservices, APIs, and cloud service integrations
• Previous experience with Reconciliation and/or month-end close applications is preferred
