Torch Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer in Huntsville to provide technical oversight for testing and verification of a next-generation Army aviation platform. The role ensures DO-178C/DO-254 airworthiness compliance and evaluates contractor testing artifacts.

You will oversee OEM and supplier FQT, support TRRs and SOI audits, and guide software releases from SIL to flight test, mitigating risks across the supply chain. This position is onsite in Huntsville, AL.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Experience providing technical oversight and evaluating software FQT in a defense environment.
• Deep familiarity with aviation software standards (DO-178C/DO-254).
• Experience building oversight processes and evaluating SIL testing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee OEM and supplier Formal Qualification Testing (FQT) and high-level requirements-based testing to ensure DO-178C/DO-254 objectives.
• Evaluate contractor-delivered software life cycle data and verification artifacts for airworthiness compliance.
• Provide government oversight for milestone reviews, including TRRs and FQT.
• Support SOI audits to ensure AEH development meets airworthiness objectives.
• Oversee transition of incremental software releases from SIL environments into active flight test environments.
• Evaluate verification of next-gen software architectures, including MOSA compliance.

This position will oversee supplier verification to drive Army Software Airworthiness qualification for advanced avionics and mission systems.
