Job summary

Peraton seeks a Senior Software Security Engineer in the Annapolis Junction area to implement and secure software across the lifecycle. You will perform security testing, review code, and develop secure software solutions that mitigate vulnerabilities while contributing to architectural design and documentation.

You should bring extensive hands-on experience in Java/C/C++, RESTful services, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code with OpenSource NoSQL familiarity, and hold an active TS/SCI with

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with current Polygraph required.
• Twenty (20) years of experience in planning and leading Software Engineering efforts.
• Bachelor's degree in technical discipline; four (4) years of additional software engineering exp may substitute for a degree.

Responsibilities

• Implement, test, and operate software using security techniques per reference architecture.
• Perform ongoing security testing and participate in code reviews to improve security.
• Debug, design, and code new or modify existing software.
• Propose engineering designs to mitigate security vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

• Software Engineer to implement, test, and operate using advanced software security techniques in compliance with the technical reference architecture to enhance software systems.
• Perform on-going security testing and participate in code reviews to improve software security and features.
• Debug, design, and code new software or modify existing software.
• Provide and recommend engineering designs for new software solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities.
• Contribute on all levels of the architecture and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with team members and exchange knowledge on secure coding practices.
• Ability to develop familiarity with new tools and best practices.

Highly Desired Skills:

• Demonstrated work experience with OpenSource (NoSQL) products such as Hbase/Accumulo, Big Table, etc.
• A minimum of six (6) years demonstrated experience out of the most recent eight (8) years developing production software for Solaris or Linux environments
• Six years (6) of experience developing software using the Java programming language or C or C++
• Developing RESTful services
• Developing infrastructure as code
• Continuous integration and deployment tools such as Ansible and Terraform
• Java development
• Kubernetes
• Previous experience developing analytics applications

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• Active TS/SCI with current Polygraph required
• Twenty (20) years of experience in planning and leading Software Engineering efforts.
• Bachelor's degree in technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required
  • Four (4) years of additional software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
