vCluster Labs in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Software Quality Engineer to own test strategy and automation across a fast-growing product. You will build scalable test frameworks and champion testability in design conversations, ensuring confidence to ship daily.

You will lead test strategy across services, integrate tests into CI/CD, and drive exploratory testing while balancing multiple projects in a startup setting. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in QA or software testing, including 2+ years at a senior/staff level.
• AI-assisted QA workflow using AI tools for PR reviews, test plans, and automation.
• Ownership mindset to drive QA initiatives without explicit direction.
• Startup-pace adaptability with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication to advocate for quality.

Responsibilities

• Test framework ownership: Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for backend services and UI.
• Test strategy: Own and drive comprehensive test coverage aligned with product goals.
• Cross-functional influence: Collaborate with engineering and product to shape features with testability in mind.
• Architectural input: Participate in design discussions with a testability lens.
• CI/CD integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
• Exploratory testing: Identify usability issues, edge cases, and regressions beyond automation.
• Parallel execution: Manage testing across multiple projects in a startup environment.
