Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer (QA)

Join our team as a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer (QA) at Emergent Software. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work with a team of top-notch engineers including software developers, architects, and other QA analysts.

We are seeking a smart, passionate, and efficient QA Engineer with experience in applying quality assurance concepts, leading quality control efforts, and utilizing both manual and automated testing on complex, data-driven, web-based applications and websites. The role requires good communication skills, a strong work ethic, and participation in all aspects of the agile software development lifecycle.

Primary Duties

• Plan test cases for user stories and features within an agile team.
• Create and interpret automated testing scenarios.
• Document testing results, report bugs, and coordinate remediation.
• Refine acceptance criteria to match project requirements.
• Perform manual testing and coordinate automation activities.
• Track issues and evaluate the impact of project changes on testing.
• Improve QA processes for robustness and efficiency.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in manual and automated testing within an agile environment.
• Proficiency with automation tools and writing test plans and cases.
• Understanding of web applications, APIs, databases, mobile and desktop apps, and cloud services.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, small team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and technical communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, and similar tools.
• Test planning for large projects and consulting experience.
• Microsoft stack technologies and content management systems.
