Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (DS) seeks a Software Quality Assurance Manager 2 to lead quality activities for defense-grade systems at the Northridge, CA site. The role focuses on plans, audits, and collaboration with engineering, test and program management to ensure DoD compliance and reliability.

The position requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of DoD standards (MIL-STD-498, DO-178C, CMMC), and experience in CI/CD and automated testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field; 8+ years of defense software development experience OR Master’s with 6+ years experience.
• 12 years of experience in lieu of a formal degree.
• 3+ years in a supervisory SQA role.
• Experience with MIL‑STD‑498, DO‑178C, CMMC, ISO9001, IEC61508, and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain SQA strategy aligned with DoD standards.
• Oversee QAP creation for programs including V&V schedules, metrics, and risk actions.
• Lead audits, CDRL reviews, and compliance assessments across teams.
• Mentor SQA engineers and coordinate with engineering, tests, and program management.
