Job summary

Trusted Space, LLC is seeking a Senior Software Mission Solutions Architect for a hybrid role in the Washington, DC area. Requires a Bachelor's in Software Engineering or related field and 10–15 years of experience with TS/SCI clearance.

You will lead mission-level system‑of‑systems engineering, design architectures, evaluate technologies, translate requirements, mentor teams, and support proposals in a fast‑paced space domain environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or a relevant technical field.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Ability to understand and design large‑scale system‑of‑systems.
• Experience with DoDAF/MBSE and space/defense domains.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Mission Level System-of-Systems Engineering: Provide customersassistanceis capturing,maturingand executing a mission capability through system-of-systems integration.

• System Design and Architecture: Develop high-level and detailed architectures for complexspacesystems, ensuring they meet functional requirements, security standards, and industry regulations.

• Technology Evaluation and Integration: Lead the assessment and integration ofnew technologiesto enhance product offerings and operational efficiency.

• Requirements Translation: Work withcustomers, industrystakeholders,and subject matter experts to translate complex needs into technical specifications and implementation strategies.

• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to best practices.

• ProposalWriting& Business Development: Contribute to proposals,develop andpresent technical concepts to clients and non-technical audiences, and build trusted advisor relationships.

• Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot technical issues, evaluate designs for feasibility and compliance, andidentifysolutions to complex technical challenges.

Qualifications

• Systems Thinking: Ability to understand and design large-scale"system-of-systems,"from ground segments to space systems.
• Knowledge of frameworks:Familiarity with frameworks likeDoDAF (Department of Defense Architecture Framework) and MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering).
• Software Architecture:Awareness and understanding ofsoftware architectures, microservices, APIs, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).
• Aerospace & Defense Domain Knowledge: Understanding of coreindustryprocesses,standards &regulations, and the specific technical needs of the aerospace and defense sector.
• Communication: Excellent ability to present complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Master’s degreeor higherin Software Engineeringor a relevant technical degree.
• Space systems experience across multiple government domains (Title 10, Title 50, NASA, Civil).
• Experience with Modular Open SystemsArchitecture(MOSA)approachesthe development of complex system-of-systems.
• Experience with Business Development processes and identification of customer needs.
• Knowledge and experience with edge-based processing systems and constraints (GPU/FPGA Processing, embedded software, flight software).

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $200,000. Please note that this range is a general guideline and can vary. Trusted Space, LLC considers several factors when extending an offer including, but not limited to: scope, location, position responsibilities, education/training, key skills and business considerations.
