Job summary

Penn State University’s Applied Research Laboratory in San Diego seeks an experienced Software Integration Engineer to support JFN, DE2 and VFDE. You will maintain system health, automate reporting, and drive DevSecOps practices across cross-functional teams.

The role requires on-site work in San Diego, DoD security clearances, and a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science with 2+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of IT frameworks (Agile, ITIL).
• Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (within 3 months).
• IAT Level II certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high availability and health of program resources to support operations and testing.
• Develop/maintain automated reporting dashboards for system health.
• Provide software sustainment with configuration management controls.
• Improve engineering processes and tools for system status visibility.
• Automate verification/validation of key capabilities.
• Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with providers.
• Stay updated on trends in automated testing, distributed databases, and container orchestration.
