Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering in the Commercial & Investment Bank's Sanctions Technology team. You will lead multiple engineering teams, provide technical coaching, and influence budget and strategy to deliver secure, reliable services at scale.

Role requires hands-on coding and production issue management, with strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-adapted architectures across hybrid environments within regulated settings.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
• Experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items.
• Experience hiring, developing, and mentoring talent for strategic initiatives.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and data sensitivity considerations.
• Hands-on experience in Java-based platforms and languages like Spring Boot, React, Python in production at scale.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of engineers across basic to moderately complex tasks.
• Provide architectural oversight for Java-based enterprise platforms with focus on performance, reliability, security, and operability.
• Lead modernization across legacy, cloud, and hybrid environments; enforce secure design and compliance guardrails.
• Set and scale operating practices for enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering and SDLC/TLM automation; establish measurable expectations and ensure security and resiliency.
• Drive efficiency using SDLC tools, promote reuse of firm technology assets, and ensure governance of AI-assisted development.
