Job summary

Machina Labs, based in Los Angeles, seeks a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to lead the software brain of our robotic factory. You will own the full journey from 3D geometry to robotic instructions and partner with product managers to shape the roadmap.

You will manage a talented team, drive delivery, and guide AI-assisted applications while collaborating with cross-functional groups across infrastructure, robotics, and compliance. This is a hybrid role with strong growth potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3-5+ years of people management.
• Strong command of software development processes and lifecycle management.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.
• Experience building and operating software on AWS.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of software engineers.
• Own delivery of software solutions for the factory software brain.
• Partner with product managers to prioritize work and ship features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization.
• Establish and improve software development processes and lifecycle practices.
• Provide technical oversight for AI-assisted applications.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members; grow engineering culture.
• Balance long-term architectural health with fast startup pace.
