Job summary

Machina Labs is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to lead the team that builds the software brain of our robotic factory. You will own deliveries spanning 3D geometry to robotic instructions, serving internal customers who operate production systems daily.

You will guide a team across factory web apps, computational geometry, visualization, ML, and AI governance. Strong leadership, hands‑on engineering, and ability to scale a startup are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/Software Engineering or related field
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 3–5+ years of people management
• Strong command of software development processes and lifecycle management
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and Python
• Experience building and operating software on AWS and CI/CD pipelines
• Docker and Kubernetes experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of software engineers
• Own delivery of software solutions
• Collaborate with product managers to define priorities and ship features
• Partner with cross‑functional teams across the organization
• Establish and improve software development processes and quality practices
• Provide technical oversight for AI‑assisted applications
• Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members
• Balance long‑term architecture with fast growth of the startup
