Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Manager to lead a skilled team building AI software for aerospace design and analysis. You will drive a bold technology roadmap, collaborating with customers and top AI providers to advance the Physical AI platform while delivering reliable, scalable software products for spaceflight.

The role demands rapid delivery, continuous improvement, and a passion for Blue Origin's mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years in software engineering with at least 3 in a managerial role.
• Proven track record leading software projects end-to-end.
• Experience in GenAI and agentic AI capabilities.
• Strong software architecture and design pattern knowledge.
• Experience with distributed backends and AWS.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise Physical AI software engineering team to build AI products that accelerate the hardware lifecycle: requirements, design, simulation, analysis, build, operate.
• Staff and hire the software engineering team to meet enterprise Physical AI goals and roadmaps.
• Partner with customers and Emerging Technology leaders to develop and execute a Physical AI product roadmap.
• Collaborate with external partners like Anthropic, AWS, OpenAI to integrate capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Report to Vice President Enterprise Technology and align with AI & Emerging Technologies engineering strategy.
• Own and optimize production of Physical AI systems with performance, cost, and quality in mind.
• Grow and mentor dedicated individuals and future leaders.
