Job description

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build and evolve software for robotics and autonomous systems. This is a hands-on leadership role working on performance-critical applications using C++ and Python, solving complex engineering problems and developing software that needs to operate reliably in real-world environments.

This role will work closely with engineers across software, mechanical, electrical, and computer vision disciplines. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute across the development lifecycle, from designing algorithms and implementing new capabilities to debugging systems and optimizing performance.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and maintain production-quality software using C++ and Python.
  • Build algorithms, data structures, and software components that support complex robotics and autonomous applications.
  • Improve existing systems with a focus on performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical, computer vision, and other software engineers to integrate functionality across the broader system.
  • Design and implement concurrent and multi-threaded software for performance-critical applications.
  • Troubleshoot complex software issues, identify root causes, and implement durable fixes.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and other engineering practices that support high-quality software.
  • Use modern development workflows and tooling, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
  • Contribute to software architecture and technical decisions as systems evolve.
  • Follow appropriate security, reliability, and software development standards throughout the product lifecycle.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years professional experience with C++ and Python.
  • Experience developing software for robotics, autonomous systems, or other complex hardware-software platforms.
  • Strong understanding of multi-threading, concurrency, and performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of system-level programming, memory management, and debugging techniques.
  • Familiarity with software architecture, design patterns, and modern development methodologies.
  • Experience with Git and collaborative software development practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with an interest in tackling technically challenging problems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, highly collaborative engineering environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Professional experience developing production software for robotics, autonomous platforms, embedded systems, or other performance-sensitive applications.
  • Experience optimizing software for computationally intensive or resource-constrained environments.
  • Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD, and modern software development infrastructure.
  • Experience working closely with hardware and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Background taking software from early development and prototyping through testing and deployment.
