Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced software engineering leader to manage a team responsible for enterprise application development. You will coach engineers, drive delivery within scope, and align solutions with business goals and security standards.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, shape architecture, promote best practices, and ensure scalable, reliable systems across cloud and on-prem environments. This role is located at a U.S. Bank facility and requires regular onsite presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
• 10 or more years of related experience in information systems technology.
• Experience supporting applications within a regulated or highly controlled enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of software engineers by providing coaching, mentoring, performance management, career development, and ongoing technical guidance.
• Drive the successful delivery of application development initiatives, ensuring solutions are completed within agreed scope, schedule, quality, security, and operational expectations.
• Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams to prioritize work, translate business needs into technical solutions, manage dependencies, and communicate project status, risks, and outcomes.
• Establish and promote software engineering best practices across design, source control, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, cloud platforms, containerization, deployment, and production support.
• Provide oversight for application architecture and technical design decisions, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, supportable, and aligned with standards.
• Manage work intake, resource planning, team capacity, operational priorities, vendor relationships, and application support responsibilities across a portfolio of technology solutions.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence while ensuring compliance with risk, security, regulatory, change-management, and governance requirements.
