Bloomberg is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Workplace Productivity in New York. You will build and operate internal solutions using Microsoft 365/Azure and Google Workspace for 25,000+ employees, focusing on governance, security, and reliability.

You’ll partner with product teams to turn capabilities into scalable, production‑ready services while maintaining compliance and lifecycle governance across platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Experience building production services and automation with C#, Python and PowerShell.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering/Math or related field, or equivalent experience.

Bloomberg’s Workplace Productivity teambuilds internal solutionsacrossMicrosoft365/Azure and Google Workspaceforover25,000 employees.We partner closely with the product team in discovering the real problem fromthebusinesses, shaping the approach, and delivering production‑ready solutions.

The Role

As a member of the Workplace Productivityteam,you’llbe part builder, part platform explorer, and part trusted advisor:you’llhelp turn the “latest and greatest” capabilities from Microsoft and Google into secure, governed solutions that internal teams can rely on.Because these technologies evolve quickly, we focus on adopting new features responsibly–establishing,whereappropriate,governanceand lifecycle management to ensure long‑term reliability, security, and alignment with internal standards.

You’ll need to have

• 5+years of experience in software development, specializing in building production services and automation solutions using C#, Python and PowerShell.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

We would love to see

• Understanding of latest AI tooling and working knowledge on governance models
• Experience understanding and applying governance for AI agents, including oversight of Model Context Protocol (MCP), security, and compliance controls
• Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 certifications, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert and Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, or equivalent credentialsdemonstratingadvanced cloud and enterprise administrationexpertise
• Security Certifications - SANS or similar
• Google Workspace Administration experience/certifications
• Deep understanding ofMicrosoft 365 services and how toutilize,manage, securethem at enterprise scale
• Strongproficiencyin Azure Entra ID, including understanding its dependencies related to identity and access security, as well as features like Conditional Access, Defender for O365etc.
• Demonstrated success in delivering data protection and compliance solutions for financial institutions by designing DLP policies and integrating Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace with third-party security systems
• Familiarity with security posture improvements and hardening concepts in cloud environments (e.g., least privilege, logging/monitoring/auditing).
• Experience designing and operating web and Windows services that integrate with other internal systems and platforms
• Demonstrated experience managing DevOps pipelines,leveragingGitHub for configuration-as-code, and enabling automated, scalable deployments
• Experience across all phases of the software development life cycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support

Salary Range = 160,000-240,000 USD Annual+ Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
