Job summary

Cubic Corporation, through Cubic Digital Intelligence, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to sustain and modernize the Unified Video ecosystem. This hybrid role in Ashburn, VA focuses on maintaining FMV-related systems, containerizing infrastructure, and automating deployments while ensuring security and scalability for mission-critical defense apps.

The engineer will work with Node.js/Python, PostgreSQL, and Linux, contributing to architecture discussions and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience developing software using Node.js and/or Python.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL, Linux environments, Git, and modern source control workflows.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot software for the Unified Video platform, including FMP and NetOps.
• Develop and maintain backend services and automation using Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, and Linux-based tech.
• Support migration from Docker to Kubernetes deployments.
• Develop and maintain Ansible automation and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement security updates and ensure compliance with security requirements and STIG guidance.
• Investigate and resolve software defects, performance issues, and production requests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the software lifecycle.
